How we make recommendations: our methodology
At Tu Jardín Pro we believe a recommendation is only worth something if you understand how it was made. Behind every guide and comparison is a structured five-step verification process, run by Adonai Domínguez, with hands-on gardening experience and years documenting tools and plants for outdoor climates. Here's exactly what that involves.
Our 5-step verification process
- Market research. We identify the most relevant models and varieties in each category by cross-referencing manufacturer catalogs, distributors and real search volume, so we prioritize what people actually buy and plant.
- Spec-sheet verification. We cross-check every technical figure (power, materials, dimensions, consumption, warranty, hardiness zone) directly against the manufacturer's or seed company's official documentation. We don't copy specs from other third-party sites — we verify against the source.
- Verified review aggregation. We read and synthesize hundreds of verified buyer reviews (mainly on Amazon) to spot the patterns that actually matter: what works, what fails and what problems show up after weeks of use, not just out of the box.
- Price, stock and ASIN checks. We manually verify that every linked product is still available on Amazon, that the ASIN matches the exact model in the review, and that the listed price is reasonable. Links and prices are reviewed periodically, not set once and forgotten.
- Real-world use context. We combine all of the above with the reader's actual use case (regional climate, garden size, budget, experience level) to recommend what fits, not simply what's most expensive or best-selling.
The limits of our method (and how we handle them)
Being transparent also means saying where we fall short:
- We don't run our own physical test lab. Our comparisons rely on rigorous documentary verification (step 2) and large-scale analysis of real buyer experiences (step 3), not on physically testing every unit. When the Tu Jardín Pro team does have direct hands-on experience with a product, we say so explicitly in that review.
- We don't accept pay-to-rank. No brand can pay to appear, move up in rankings, or keep us from mentioning a drawback. Selection is done on merit, following the process above.
- We don't hide flaws. An honest comparison includes each product's real downsides. If something fails often according to verified buyers, you'll find it in our review.
How we use technology (including AI)
We use artificial intelligence tools to speed up parts of the research and writing process described above: cross-referencing manufacturer catalogs, synthesizing large volumes of verified reviews, and structuring content drafts. No article goes live without human editorial oversight: every technical figure, every ASIN and every recommendation is verified against the source before publishing, following exactly the five steps above. AI speeds up the work; it doesn't replace verification or editorial judgment.
